Latoya Flowers

Latoya graduated from the School of Visual Arts in New York with her MFA in Social Documentary Film. She has assisted on films such as, A Good Man for PBS American Masters and The Interrupters for Frontline.

In addition, Latoya has produced, directed, and edited films that have been broadcasted and shown in festivals such as, the Made From Scratch Film Showcase, Ravenswood ArtWalk Film Competition, The NET TV, and the Atlanta International Documentary Film Festival. Latoya is currently working as a Jr. Digital Content Producer for The Adler Planetarium in Chicago, IL.

One Shot: The Angelo Townsend Story is an inspiring documentary film that follows Angelo at the age of 40 pursing his dream in trying out for a Major League Baseball team. Angelo was a victim of gun violence in an attempted robbery that shattered his chance to play baseball professionally 20 years ago.

Title Sequence created for the documentary film Derby Girls.

Derby Girls is a portrait of Jailya Roberts, Janicide Joplin, and Sixteen Scandals who play roller derby for the Windy City Rollers. The film explores their passion for the sport; the challenges they face with strenuous practices, injuries and family approval; the camaraderie they have with their teammates; and how the sport helps them feel empowered.

This a work-in-progress film.
